Beginnings
I still remember why I started keeping a journal. I owe it to my grandmother's (my dad's mom) story about an aged couple. I won't get into the story, but I knew jotting down my personal thoughts was something I would like to try. So in summer of 2004, I asked my dad to buy me my first journal. Now for a 13 year old, I wanted the small pretty one with bright covers and of course it needed to have a mini lock and key. I thought if I lock it safely and checked it twice, nobody will read my secrets. As the years went by, the journal entries took a turn from being my secret keepers to anything that I quickly wrote down while on the road, sipping a warm cup of coffee, or even staring out a window with a lovely view.
11 years and 7 books later, here I am. If you do the math, you will notice that the ratio of years to books don't really add up. And that my friends is a mix of procrastination, laziness, and life. As the number of pages in each new book got bigger, the consistency of my writing stalled from time to time.
So you would think for someone who started "jotting down" her personal thoughts for more than a decade, starting a blog would be familiar. The irony is that I am still struggling to find a perfect name for the title of my first post as I am typing this. Is it mundane to use the words "first post" for the title? With that being said, think of my blog as an university student with an undeclared major. Here I would love to share my old and new scribbles, random musings, travel adventures, food tastings, cooking experiments, or anything that I find interesting enough to photograph. Bear with me as I navigate through this learning process of careful writing and sharing.
