It's been quite some time since I have blogged. I don't think "I was busy" counts as a valid excuse. Also, I believe my explanations will be redundant. So...
My love for sushi is not a new topic and people who talked to me for more than a couple of minutes about food is well aware of it. I think majority of the pictures on my Instagram profile are my sushi adventures or my infamous selfies. Being a sushi aficionado, it's crucial that I dedicate my first "restaurant" blog post about it.
One of my close friends is a vegetarian and usually we all go to a regular sushi restaurant. This time, we decided to try a vegetarian sushi restaurant near us. I am not a picky eater to begin with except for broccoli...those large flowering heads does not look very appetizing to me. And no mom, even stir frying doesn't help.
So this adventure was a couple of months ago and every time I scroll through my photos I salivate. Now as I am uploading the pictures, I have practiced the art of drooling. I went to the restaurant knowing I will be writing a blog post about it and I learned two things: 1) I can never be satisfied with the amount of pictures I take 2) I need to enroll in a food photography class. I would say 90% of our conversation was me trying to stop him from eating so I could take more pictures. Ahhh, the perks of having great friends! I am going to deviate from this post and state that I have new found respect for anyone who waits until their family or friends take pictures of food. Guys, the amount of patience they have is unimaginable.
Here is a fun fact about the restaurant: PETA named this restaurant as one of the top 10 restaurants for vegan sushi. If this isn't enough to convince you to try this restaurant or vegan sushi, I hope these pictures help ;)

Started with miso soup and dumpling soup - this right here is always good to me. Never complained about miso soup in my life. |

Vegan fried fish - I am not quite sure what this is made out of but I like the extra salty taste it had. Definitely worth a try. |

Fried tofu in peanut sauce - before anyone judge me, the two main ingredients in this dish (tofu and peanut butter) are not my favorite (you will never catch me order tofu or eat peanut butter from the jar) ...BUT then I had one piece and then another and then another? |

King Mushroom Special Roll - fried mushroom (I guess king mushrooms - bad attempt at making a joke ^.^) topped with fresh slices of avocado. One of the rolls that I would definitely order again. |

Mango Roll - This was just ok for me, because I usually prefer not having a sweet flavor when it comes to sushi. |

Spicy Salmon makes another entrance because it was my absolute favorite item from the menu - I wouldn't say it tasted exactly like salmon...but it was really close. We both loved this and kept going back for more spicy salmon rolls.
After this we had various choices of ice-cream and fruits for dessert. Like I said before, I definitely need training with food photography. I hope you guys try this restaurant, if not hopefully vegan sushi. If you do, please feel free to leave comments about your experience in the comment box. Would love to hear about it :)
