Our Velyammichi - My Godmother
The "Iron Lady" of our Nampiaparambil household, Velyammichi (Dad's mom), was the man and the woman behind every scene. Velyammichi laid the foundation, transformed the house into a home, and nourished the roots through sufferings and hardships. Velyammichi led us by showing examples...
Thank you for showing us to be resilient when we hit the eye of the storm. Thank you for showing us to be independent and understand that we can achieve the impossible. Thank you for showing us to be confident when we pave the way to reach our goals. Thank you for showing us to be hopeful when we hit rock bottom. Thank you for showing us to be humble when opportunities knock at our doors. Thank you for showing us the difference between surviving and living life no matter how difficult the situation is. Thank you for showing us to lend a helping hand to others even when we have nothing to offer. Thank you for showing us that we are nowhere near perfect to judge anyone or point fingers at others. Thank you for showing us to be responsible for our own actions and be good citizens regardless of jobs/wealth. Most importantly, thank you for showing us and reminding us everyday to be God-fearing and trust Him in both good and bad times.
We are who we are because of you Velyammichi. You ignited the fire and we promise you that we will keep it burning and pass it down to our future generations. We will truly miss the smiling face, sitting in the living room couch and waiting for us in front of our Nampiaparambil tharavadu.
We love you.
Rest In Peace Velyammichi.
